There is to be a Numbered and a Lettered edition. Publisher confirmed this.

King's twitter page has this picture which looks like a hard cover.

Thanks Alan! No other details at this time I assume?

EDIT - Found the relevant publisher page, http://hardcasecrime.com/books_bios.cgi?entry=bk165
The only relevant line I saw was "Will also be available as a limited-edition hardcover with two cover paintings by Gregory Manchess"

I'll buy a signed edition for sure. Please keep us posted if someone sees on-sale information, pricing, etc.

Back in the “olden days” there would be lotteries held to determine who could purchase a LE (if I recall correctly, EYES, TALISMAN, AND SKELETON CREW were done this way). I’ve been out of the thick of it for a little while, how are they being done now?

For the most part, there's a mix between the following:
  • Free for all as soon as an announcement happens
  • Lottery system of some sort
  • Customers of a previous title get first dibs at a matching number of the current title
I would say that last option seems to be leading a little bit lately but it's probably more of a function of which publishing house is currently printing SK limiteds as they all prefer to handle orders in their own way. It'll be curious which way this book goes. I don't follow other titles by Hard Case Crime, if someone else does and can share how they handle their limited edition releases, this book may follow the same pattern.

I can see where all might work, the latter would hurt newer collectors of course. It is a larger group now of course. In the days of the dinosaurs you could mail these players and get personalized replies (and assistance). Odd how in a way progress and “social” media may have made us all less social. :| Thanks so much for that info! :D
