I have come across a few DT HC books recently that have the number line on the CP and everything seems to match first edition identifiers, except the DJs do not have a price on them (not price clipped).
Does this make sense. At first I thought maybe the DJ was replaced, but I have seen a few more since. Books VI & VII more specifically.
DT First Edition Books, but no price on DJ

If you don't see a price on the DJ that typically means you're looking at a book club edition.
A little weird on DT 6 & 7, those are new enough I'm not sure if BC editions were still a thing. Must be I guess

Not necessarily. The absence of a printed price is sometimes the characteristic of a proof dust-jacket.

That's quite a rarity though, compared to a BCE. Also it's been my (admittedly limited experience with proofs) that the books are typically marked somewhere as proof copies.
