Book Club Editions
I recently bought a small lot and most seem to be book club editions. They don’t have prices on the dust jackets but is that the only thing that matters? Some have a mix of things like barcodes, no bar codes, headbands, number lines on the copyright page, first published edition. Is there a real difference between the Doubleday book club and Stephen King library books club editions?

Yes, lots of differences. Check out the "Identify US 1st Editions" page. Link at the bottom of each thread.

Re: Book Club Editions
Agreed there is a lot of difference. The thing to remember is if it’s NOT a 1st edition then it’s likely not valuable/collectible.
So regardless of all the variants out there it doesn’t matter much what edition it is if it’s not a 1st
Also no price on the DJ always = book club edition (at least as far as the DJ which is up to 90% of a books value)

There is one thing to remember--King has one book that was only issued as BMOC--the collection Secret Windows.

It was also issued as one of the Stephen King Book Club (Red Leather) editions.

These books are commonly known as the Red Leather Editions or Red Faux Leather Editions.

Re: Book Club Editions
Hello,
I'm looking for information as to when the Red Leather Library editions were first made available. Were they available at the same time as the first edition or published at a later date? Such as was the Carrie red leather published in 1974?
