So, as some of you will (probably) know The Stand is getting a tv series made and it's due for release in 2020.

The cast list had partially been confirmed but just now it has been revealed that Alexander Skarsgard will take on the role of Randall Flagg.
What do you think of this choice?
I personally think it will be a perfect role for him.

So this is the brother of Bill Skarsgård who played Pennywise?
I'm not familiar with Alexander's work but that's pretty cool on a number of levels.
While I'm not sure that The Stand needs a remake, I though the same thing of IT and I have to say the remake of IT resonated with me even more so than the original - likely not just because of the excellent writing and better effects, but because - as an 80's kid myself - the fact this was set in the 80's and then 2019(ish) really made this feel more personal.

Yes, he is & i'm pretty convinced that Alexander will portray Randall Flagg perfectly.TheCollector wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 11:32 am So this is the brother of Bill Skarsgård who played Pennywise?

The Skarsgård family just never ceases to amaze me with their acting capabilities.
I'm not sure about casting Whoopi Goldberg as mother Abigail Fremantle though .
That just doesn't seem right to me but i guess we'll have to wait and see, maybe Whoopi will astonish us in 2020.

I hadn't heard this was happening. I still like the first one so I'm not extremely excited about a re-make.
That being said I do hope it's good. In regards to the remake of IT (I've only watched part 1) I wasn't thrilled with it. There were some good moments but still prefer Tim Curry.
