I don't get it.
Say you were buying a Limited Edition of Christine. I picked Christine because there were 1000 numbered and easy to work with.
Two are up for sale in the same condition from the same seller. One is Number 9 and the other is number 900. I know #9 will fetch more...but why? For all we know #900 was printed first and SK just grabbed the other box first. Or are we thinking his hand was tired...maybe he takes a break at each 100?
Truth is I would pay more...BUT I DON'T KNOW WHY. Love to read you thoughts.

King signs the limitation pages before they are numbered.
I think it's just because some people like to get a low number. It really doesn't matter to me.

I don't get this either, whether the number on a S/L is 4 or 400 i don't really care. none of mine are low numbers and it really doesn't bother me, the only one i could understand is No 217 of the CD doctor sleep or the Sub press shining, but as for low and high numbers i really don't know why people pay a extra say $100+ for a low number.

I'd pay more for The Shining S/L 237. Anybody have one?
Paying more for a low number doesn't make sense to me, but hey, to each his own.
Id pay more for a PC copy though; they're much rarer than the numbered.

The exception....I think we all would pay more for number 1. That's a sweet number.
I wouldn't pay more for a PC, but to each their own.

Re: Why Are Lower Numbers Worth More?
Well you answered your own question.... You're willing to pay more for #1...Why? You like the idea of having #1. Some people like the idea of a low number, or specific numbers that are significant (#19, #237, etc)TrueNorth wrote:The exception....I think we all would pay more for number 1. That's a sweet number.

Also, when it come to books published by Donald M. Grant, lower numbers are better for matching sets and to gaurantee your place for future releases.

Re: Why Are Lower Numbers Worth More?
A collector recently received #1 of the s/l Joyland. He posted some pics, and I thought was pretty cool.
If anyone like special number, I have 69 of WTTK UK signed limited I'd part with for the right price.
Any kinky collectors out there...?
