I guess I meant had you been actively searching for one with out luck first? had normal sources fall through before you came across this one etc?

Feel free to pass my name to your friends if they ever have more than one awesome proof to get rid of :-)

I'm always looking for the "odd" King pre-publication, so when this was offered, I grabbed it. I haven't heard from this seller for more than a year, though.

Yeah, I wish my cases were nearly as nice. Ikea...it's no supermodel but gets the job more or less done :) There's a custom bookshelf maker in my neighborhood, but their very basic pine cases start at $219 for a 72" - if you want to go for a fancy-ish style but with no windows we're close to $400.

Funny how I have no problem spending that on a S/L but can't force myself to spend that money to upgrade my shelves....priorities (sigh) :)

I picked up the upper glass at a antique store, I wasn't shopping for glass, matching pair perfect size for door's. The wood is quarter sawn oak and the bottom glass is antiqued type, with imperfections, materials alone was close to $1000. My wife's brother did a great job and thank all the time!

I am in the same boat Tomas. I want to upgrade my bookcases to glass doors. Mostly for the preservation of the books. My family doesn't understand that the $400 bookcase is going to hold $1000s of dollars worth of books. Still on the fence about what to buy. Any suggestions anyone. To let you know the books are in a spare bedroom and are staying there for the near future.
