Intro from London & some of my SK experiences (How did I not know about this site?!)

I came across SK Collector whilst doing research for a video series on Beach Horror (Duma Key and Edgar's artwork) and I can't believe this site hasn't come up on my RADAR till now.

I live in London, UK. My first SK book was Salem's Lot when I was 11 years old (I'd read The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson before Salem's Lot, and it got me hooked on horror), and I've been a lifelong fan ever since, often rereading his stories.

In the early noughts he was doing a book promo and signing for Bag of Bones and I was lucky enough to meet him in the South Bank's Royal Festival Hall and get a signed hardback. Other than that, I've no special editions.

Duma Key and From a Buick 8 are my favourite novels by King and I wish they got more attention. I know FAB8 is very unpopular but I just love the characterisation and the utter refusal to explain the situation with the car. Even for those who've read The Dark Tower cycle, there's nothing in the book that over-explains the phenomena. I'm kinda obsessed with Todash space and what might be there, so I do tend to love books that have references or possibilities to it.

Michael McDowell and John Langan are two of my other favourite authors.

If you like "From a Buick 8", check the rear of the books if you run across them in a bookstore.

I know some Book Club editions were issued with a poster that included a facsimile signature of King's.

I've also seen those posters paired up with a true first printing of the book on the secondhand market.
