Late-night Questions That Keep Me Awake

Post by Sherlock Joe's »

If you look closely at the title " 'salem's Lot", you'll notice an apostrophe starts the title.

That means that it's an abbreviation of "Jerusalem's Lot", the name of the town, right?

So ....

Do you pronounce the first word in the book's title *Sal-emms* or *say-lemms*?? :?:

It's "say-lemms" for me.

On a related note, Remaques are "Rhee-Mark" for me. Although the first time I was at a King event, I noticed a couple other folks proncoucing that differently, like "Remark".....of course in my mind if I was pronoucing it that way, I'd spell it that way....and those folks were from the east coast and we all know they talk weird :)
