Scribner first edition print runs

Post by PBCollector »

I’ve been looking around the Simon & Schuster digital catalog, and notice that they provide the first printing info on PDFs. The catalog is difficult to navigate, but you can dig a little using the backlist tab. Different titles appear on this backlist tab depending on which title you’re looking at.

Anyway, the stated first printing for Doctor Sleep is 1,500,000, which does not match the figure given on this web site (1,100,000). So I was wondering what is the source of the 1,100,000 figure?

Click on the Export pdf logo in the top right and you get the printing info:

Wow that's a great find! I have to admit I don't remember where the number came from but as I would look at the catalog as an official source I'm more than happy to update the print run with this info as well as for any other titles we can find.

So far I see:

Doctor Sleep - 1,500,000 copies
11/22/63 - 2,000,000 copies
Under the Dome - 2,000,000 copies
Holly - 300,000 copies
Never Flinch - 1,250,000 copies
Mr. Mercedes - 1,250,000 copies
Life of Chuck - 150,000 copies
You Like it Darker - 1,000,000 copies
If It Bleeds - 1,000,000 copies
Billy Summers - 1,000,000 copies
Fairy Tale - 1,500,000 copies

Am I missing any?

Ah thank you! I see I was looking at the Holly Mass Market paperback by accident.

Like you said, pretty clunky to navigate - but a wonderful trove of missing data!
