Hi I found a copy of Carrie and Night Shift online but I'm a little confused on the edition. Both of them are $5 not sure if I should buy them or not.
Carrie has O12 on the inner martin of page 198. It's in rough condition
Night Shift has an X on the inner margin of page 336. It's also in rough condition and is missing its dustjacket.
If anybody can tell me anything that would be great
Thanks

Re: Edition Of Carrie and Night Shift Question
They would be good only for reading copies. As collectibles, there's no value.

Re: Edition Of Carrie and Night Shift Question
when I was a beginning collector, books like those would be awesome to have, but if you are at a level where you can pay a lot and want a TRUE first edition of an early Doubleday - then educate yourself in IDing them and buy based on the dust jacket's condition as that's the part everyone see's first. I got a library copy of a 1st of Night Shift - but because the jacket is so nice - I love it and can show it off despite the library markings, etc on the book itself.
