Hello all,
First time posting here and I've searched around and couldn't find the answer so I thought I'd take a chance asking about the copy of the Shining I picked up
The copyright page doesn't identify this version as a First Edition and there's no gutter code anywhere to be found
It's printed by Doubleday in the USA
The dust jacket is the original art but it lacks a price or any indication that it's a book club edition and the back of the DJ is green with a bar code and the numerals 1072891
The book cover is black with silver lettering
Any ideas?
Thank you

Just by your description of the dust jacket, with no price and the light-blue (or green) dust jacket back, you probably have a Book Club edition.
I got burned when I bought one of those for $$$ because it was shrink-wrapped and I got a severe case of FOMO.
Very expensive lesson learned.

The book Club dustjacket has a greenish color on the spine. The first edition is white.

Thank you both for the input, sometimes trying to figure out what's what with book editions can be confusing
