Mr. Mercedes dust jacket

Post by Altair4 »

Greetings fellow readers! I am coming to you with a bit of a conundrum.... I recently purchased a 1st printing of Mr. King's 'Mr. Mercedes ' at a local thrift store. The copy itself is in very fine condition however the dust jacket strikes me as utterly unique. It appears that when the cover was stamped so that the lettering as well as the umbrella appear 3 dimensional the stamp was a bit off so the 'bumpy' letters and umbrella are offset down and to the left. Has anyone come across this in their collecting travels? I dont want to sell it, I only want to know if it is a common defect or not. Hope to hear from someone. 112263

Thanks for the question and welcome to the forums! Could you link a photo here? That would probably help.

I tried uploading a photo but the site wont allow me to. It says the file is too large.

EIther you need to resize it to make the file size smaller - or you can upload it somewhere else and just paste the link here.
