SK paperbacks and covers
I'm wondering if anyone knows if it would decrease the value of Stephen King paperbacks if I put clear contact paper on them? I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows. Thank you!

Re: SK paperbacks and covers
Manufacturers, like Brodart, make a reusable paperback slip-cover. I don't collect paperbacks like I do hardcover books, but if I were browsing a used store for a collectable paperback, I would buy one without the contact paper. Once contact paper is placed on, it cannot be removed without damage.
So, in my opinion, yes, contact will lower the value.

I agree, if they’re “collectible” editions, then it would reduce the value. A lot of paperback collectors use bags to protect their paperbacks, but many of Kings books are too thick for the regular paperback bags. The larger manga/digest bags is an option for the thicker books. BCW is a popular brand.
