Just went through the entire thread for the first time. What a treat, especially to see a partial scope of John Hanic's collection. The sheer dedication to amassing such a remarkable body of King's work. There are King collectors...and there is John Hanic.

This one might be the most expensive book I have ever bought, but considering that I am a BIG fan of both the book and the movie, it was something I was definitely willing to pay for. Geez, it's been almost two and a half years now since that purchase... time really does fly.

Now, there is only one of these known to exist, and it is very much related to Stephen King, as this is a one-of-a-kind associate copy—if you can call it that, but I like to think of it that way—signed, inscribed, and dated by Stephen King to his former publishing associate, Robert G. DiForio.

As far as I know, Robert, or simply Bob, was the New American Library executive who helped launch Stephen King's mass-market paperback career in the 1970s. In fact, he also helped launch the paperback careers of authors such as Ken Follett, Robin Cook, and Erica Jong.

So, King apparently took the first-edition Signet paperback of Cycle of the Werewolf, had it custom rebound, signed it, and presented it to Bob—or so I have been told by a very well-known reseller within our collecting community.

It's simple and elegant, but the red leather used for the binding is simply stunning.

Plus, King's signature is one of the most beautiful signatures I have ever seen. I absolutely love this!
And the custom-made case I had commissioned to protect this signed copy of Cycle of the Werewolf... I'm still in love with it. It's even better in real life.

The bookbinder tried to repair the sticker damage to the top layer of the leather on the front board, but to no avail. The sticker had damaged the leather too much, so he tried to cover it up a bit. Still, it is a gorgeous edition that was in desperate need of protection, and now it has exactly that.

Absolutely! Storm of the Century is one of the best here as well, alongside The Mist, IT, The Stand and, obviously, The Shining.

Thanks guys! I also bought the original issues of Marvel's The Gunslinger Born & The Long Road Home and this came with it as well. I've never seen it before so I think it's pretty cool.
