This book ins an omnibus edition containing four of the six books that King published under his Richard Bachman pseudonym: Rage, The Long Walk, Roadwork, and The Running Man.(The missing titles being Thinner and The Regulators) In 1999 King had Rage taken out of print and the three other novels in this omnibus were re-released seperatly.

It appears the hardback and paperback were published simultatiously. Plume was founded in 1970's the trade paperback imprint of New American Library.
