On the left navigation the "buy slipcases" menu now links to the new store.

I had someone email in this weekend with the thought that I should add an extra link to the navigation menu for the book section.....what do you guys think? Currently, I’ve put individual links back to the store on every dedicated buying page, for example the Regulators page has my link there.

The site's primary focus is not to be a bookstore, but the survey results showed an overwhelming desire for more book sales. Anyway that all being said I can see the benefit to just adding a link to the navigation menu.

Also please feel free to post some comments here on what you think. Critical comments are actually the most helpful

I'll just list out a few changes I'll be working on this month maybe get some creative juices flowing:

- Change the shopping cart icon in the upper left corner from a bag icon to a cart icon. Not sure if folks know that's the shopping cart icon or not, a cart will be more obvious
- Remove the small "continue shopping" hyperlink in the shopping cart and replace with a more visible button
- Standardization of fonts types. There's a mix of fonts, I'll get those set to something that matches the main website fonts

Currently there is a single template for both the slipcase and book sections. I'll be splitting this into two almost identical templates, This will allow the following:

- The white "home" icon goes to a page that shows both the books and slipcases collections. With this change if you're in the slipcases section and looking at a specific item (say a DT case) home will take you back to all cases. Similarly if you're looking at a S/L regulators, home will take you back to all books for sale.
- When the last of an item is sold, a red "sold out" banner appears on an item. That's great for books, but for slipcases I'll change that to Out of Stock
- Slipcases have a description setting which is good. The books don't need that, I'll get renamed to Notes.

The top section of updates will happen first, while there is still a single template so the work doesn't have to be done twice. Then we'll do the split to two templates and work on the bottom half.

If you guys see anything anything else you can think of, let me know!

Phase 1 of the revisions are complete, they include:

• Standardized fonts that match the rest of the site (also some tweaks to font size)

• Shopping cart bag icon replaced with shopping cart

• Due to some design limitations we're leaving the "continue shopping" hyperlink at the top of the shopping cart but just changing the font color to be easier to read/notice

• Added a notes field in the shopping cart so if there's anything you want to mention when ordering you're free to do so.
