Spine color of 1st/1st trade of Misery?

Post by sunflowersociety »

Folks,
I picked up another copy of Misery, 1st/1st, and I compared it to my OG I picked up in '87. The one I got recently has red lettering on the spine whereas the one bought in '87 has gold lettering on the spine, but their CP is identical. I know The Tommyknockers has 2 different colored DJs, but I didn't know the spine color changed in the 1st/1st. My buddy has red lettering on the spine- what about you all? Any explanation you know of?

Classic case of sun fade of the spine. Red colour goes first.

That's bananas. I guess 35 or so years out of the dust jacket does that to a book! Thanks for the response!
