DJ color variations for IT

Post by evanaltman36 »

I've recently picked up three 1st/1st copies of IT, but one of them looks different from the other two. My assumption is that it's just a matter of UV damage causing the bold, red letters of the title to appear more orange or faded. Everything else about them is the same, so it's not a BCE or anything. Rather than relying on my own common sense, which I've found isn't always the best idea, I was hoping someone here would be able to help.

To me that looks like UV damage. Red is affected the most by UV light. How does the spine compare to the front in terms of fading?

Looks a little different, maybe lighter, but not as easy to tell. The one on the right is the "orange" copy.

There seems to be a clear difference in color between the spine and the font, which is indicative of UV damage, since it's the spine that is usually exposed to the sun as it sits on a bookshelf.

I agree as well, UV damage. Not uncommon.

I agree with the others. Someone should have put sunscreen on their book.
