Oh, and by the way would anyone have one for sale,
If reasonable? :P

Good luck with the hunt but I think it's gonna be pretty hard to find an extra 1st edition DJ without the book. I think the price of a NF DJ is the price of a NF Book with DJ.

First edition of the first "The Stand" or first edition of the uncut version of "The Stand"?

And wouldn't a second or third printing have the same dust jacket as a first? Unless the price was different for those later printings ...

And we won't get started on the switching dust jackets issue ... 😀

I know its going to be a difficult find, that’s why I just out right asked. 8-)
This is for the true first not the uncut one.
Doubleday really knew how to make cheap flimsy dust jackets.
I don’t know if any other early printings of this book came out with the same price on the front flap,
I have never seen any. The only one I know of is The Shining 2nd print not sure of the 3rd print having the same price as the first. But hey! Come on now, we’ve all swapped before!

Marrying first edition jackets to upgrade a copy is acceptable behavior in the collector world. As for The Stand, a true first will have $12.95 on the jacket. Later printings were higher on The Stand.

As you already know, first edition Doubleday jackets are extremely important to the value of the DD releases. Every now and again a first jacket will appear in the wild, but can be proven difficult (especially for The Stand).

Great conversation though. It is searches like this is what makes collecting worth while.

Good luck in your quest. If I run across one, I will let you know.
