Shrink-wrapped DT III: The Wastelands

I've come across a shrink-wrapped copy of Grant's DT III: The Wastelands.

Ordinarily, especially after being burned once on a Book Club Shining, I wouldn't touch a shrink-wrapped King book since you can't ensure first edition, first printing before buying.

But I saw on the First Edition page for DT III that "Shrink-wrapped copies can go higher" in the pricing estimate ... can anyone give me more info?

Thanks!

The biggest price impact is the condition of the DJ for Waste Lands. The blue chips very easily. There is no value impact on removing the shrink wrap IMO. The shrink wrap on these old editions is not of archival quality so it should be removed.
Good luck!

Ah that statement was put in there when DT-3 copies were getting harder to find and some folks were wanting F/F condition only copies for various projects they were working on the ones in shrinkwrap were commanding the highest prices.

I'm not aware of any ongoing projects for DT3 now, but still if the copies are F/F they could sell for a little more just due to condition.

There's no other printing that you could confuse a DMG 1st edition with so no worries on that front.
