"IT" hardcover with WHITE Lettering NOT Red

While working at a bookstore years ago we received a box of 6th printing hardcovers of "IT". On the dust jacket of a few copies the title "IT" on both the front and the spine was white, not red like all the others. The red text ("Derry: a small....") on the inner front flap is also missing, the text box is blank. I bought a copy of both (with and without red). Anyone know anything of this? I've looked online and haven't been able to find any info about it. Thanks

Would love to see a picture of the "White Letter" version.

Weird. I'm guessing it's a printing error but it sure looks cool.

Thank you for sharing your story and photos.

Yeah it's certainly not sun fading - and considering that the inner flap is missing the red color, I think that when these DJ's were rolled thru the press they didn't get hit with red at all (or the red was out when they hit it and no one noticed)

I don't know much about how these things are printed, but I'd guess that red was the last color to be applied.

I'd say it never went through the red part of the printing. It also looks like it was folded and has a crease line on the front.
