Hey I was just wondering if anyone had purchased a copy of the shining by the folio society? I just picked up a copy new for $60 on ebay. I loved the art work and it just looked like a solid copy. I've given up hope on ever finding a first edition copy so I thought this would be a good addition to the collection. I know the value on this isnt likely to increase but it seems like a solid copy nonetheless

As you can see by the June 5th listing below The Folio Society had a sale on The Shinning & with postage it came to $56 (mailed to the states) & They were 1st editions.
So $60 seem to be right in the ball park on price at this time & if you check they are still for sale from The Society at $89..95 plus postage.

Are there any identifiers to first editions or are they all first editions. Wasnt sure if there were multiple prints or not?

I assume there was only one print run & with all the trouble they had with shipping & replacement copies sent out plus the SALE I don't see a 2nd printing called for...But I could be wrong.

Copyright page says, "Second printing 2016"

Well I would say that’s a pretty clear indicator. Lol. Thanks for the info

Could you please post an image of the copyright page?..I find it strange that a 2nd printing was 1st done in the 1st year of publication yet they are still selling 1st editions 3 years later.
