Hello from Utah

Hi folks, I've been lurking here a little while, and finally made some posts recently. I'm a government attorney living in Utah but working remotely for a California employer. My introduction to Stephen King was reading The Stand when I was about 18, the first book I'd ever read. A short while later I interviewed for a job at a book store, and still the only book I had read was The Stand. When asked about what authors I like, I talked extensively about The Stand hoping the interviewer wouldn't catch on that that's all I had read and all I could talk about! I bluffed my way through the interview well enough that I got the job, and my love of books began!

I started collecting Stephen King in earnest late last year and fell deep down the rabbit hole! I have just a handful of first editions remaining to collect, and am trying not to go too deep down the special edition rabbit hole, which could easily bankrupt me.

My biggest regret - selling a signed limited edition copy of Black House that I won (I think around 2006) through a Haven Foundation lottery
Most prized SK possession - either the SL Black House that I reacquired a couple years ago, or second state first edition of Salem's Lot.

So that's a bit about me.

Thanks,

Rick

Welcome Rick!

So glad you decided to post. It's always great to hear how folks came into reading, and eventually, collecting King!

If you'd like to post the titles you're missing I'm happy to keep an eye out for you.

BTW, my biggest regret (well...top 2 anyway). Selling a S/L Firestarter for $500 back in the day. Wasn't able to find another copy until a couple decades later at a reasonable (for the time) price.

Welcome from Scotland Rick. Visited Utah years ago to see my friend who was the DA in Moab. Sadly he is no longer with us. Loved all the National Parks around Moab. Enjoy collecting King, but be ready to get into a lot of debt. 🥺
