Good afternoon! My name is Hampton and I'm a big fan of Stephen King's books and movies. I am beginning to get into the hobby of collecting and of course my favorite book is one of the hardest to collect: 'Salem's Lot. To answer your question, most (almost all) collectors look only for first editions. The printed price you mentioned is a much later printing. To learn more about first editions, look at the top of this page and click on the red tab, 1st Editions.

A lot of information available there to help a new collector (and even us older ones) to identify first editions.
