About the Novel:
Artwork"I can't bear to believe his presence in my life had anything to do with fate. It would mean that all these terrible things—these horrors—were meant to happen. If that is so, then there is no such thing as light, and our belief in it is a foolish illusion. If that is so, we live in darkness like animals in a burrow, or ants deep in their hill. And not alone."

Revival by Stephen King is a dark and electrifying novel about addiction, fanaticism, and what might exist on the other side of life. This rich and disturbing tale spans five decades on its way to the most terrifying conclusion Stephen King has ever written. It's a masterpiece from King, in the great American tradition of Frank Norris, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Edgar Allan Poe.

Special Bonus Materials:
• Sixteen full-color illustrations by François Vaillancourt, including three fold-out illustrations measuring 14 inches by 10 inches
• An introduction by Josh Boone, writer and director of the forthcoming feature film adaptation
• Exclusive artwork created by Vincent Chong for the film development process
• "A Nasty, Dark Piece of Work" by Bev Vincent: an overview of Stephen King's writing of the novel
• "Stephen King: The Rolling Stone Interview" — an epic twenty page interview with Stephen King originally published on Halloween 2014 by Rolling Stone magazine in celebration of the novel's publication

Special Production Features:
• Deluxe oversized design (7 inches X 10 inches) featuring two color interior printing
• Printed on a heavy interior specialty acid-free paper stock that is much thicker than the paper in a normal trade edition
• Featuring two colors of hot foil stamping on the front boards and spine
• Smyth sewn to create a more durable binding
• Includes genuine crafted spine hubs in the spine
• Deluxe binding with colored head and tail bands
• High-quality endpapers
• Full-color signature sheets
• Custom-made slipcase wrapped with a woven cloth and stamped with hot foil on the spine
• Extremely collectible print run that will be a tiny fraction of the print run of the original trade hardcover edition from Scribner

Who is signing?
François Vaillancourt, Josh Boone, Vincent Chong, and Bev Vincent are currently scheduled to sign the signature sheets. Stephen King will not be signing.

I'm surprised this didn't get more attention. It is a great story and looks like a solid publication.

I usually cannot afford a number of these specialty publications but I sure like looking at them.

The print run was set at around 1,000 copies if I remember right, and that was based off the number of pre-orders received so I think collectors snapped it up in regular quantities - but probably not much to say about it since it's a new publishing house and no one has seen their work before. Sort of an obligatory order because it's a SK limited and then see how it goes, that's my take anyway.

I hear you and understand. But I think it's an exciting pick for a new publisher. The thing is it's from a "new" publisher but essentially a source many of us are familiar with. Also didn't Brian already publish other books under a CD imprint?

Either way I am really looking forward to the feedback and photos of this book. I really liked the story and based on a fairly quick sell-out others did as well.

I am not interested in this book only because it is not signed by King.

Mr. RT. Would it have mattered to you if the price point was lower? Just curious.

No, my collection these days mostly has King signed items. I sold everything else that was not signed and those items worth less than $100.

As you have a lot of experience do you think this book will increase in value?

To butt in where I'm not wanted :) ......I think it has the POTENTIAL to go up in value for a couple reasons

1) It's an offshoot of Cemetery Dance - and if you take a look at CD's gift editions there are two gift edition titles that have really broken the trend of gift editions stagnating in value FAB8 and IT, both are waaay over issue price. I'm not going to lay out any conspiracy theories as to why that is, but this book has CD's resources behind it, it may follow those books in value.

2) The production value may be more than people expect from this new publishing house - take a look at Suntup Press, they've set a new bar for quality limited editions and their prices on the secondary market reflect that.

Of course it could go the way of most gift editions and stay where it's at, may reasons for this but to balance out my argument above I'll list two of them.

1) Print run was set based on demand. So for the most part folks that wanted a copy picked one up. For those that didn't some of the specialty bookstores picked up multiple copies that they're sure to offload for a slight profit on day one, but they'll bump it in the 50-100% range at most, possibly less.

2) Revival was a good book, but it wasn't a defining book like IT/Misery/The Stand/ that has a huge following just for that title behind it. So you can't count on the title itself to draw more interest then any other typical gift edition that's sitting within plus or minus $50 of issue price.

Well I did end up ordering a copy of the LE through Camelot Books. Hope it's a great edition.
