On a plane. I'll send it once I get on the ground.

It was a first with two jackets. A second state and this one. Looked worn bc enough to be the right age

Was on an auction site and withdrawn

The first edition listing for "Salems' Lot" on here talks about the three different dust jackets for that book.

Okay wwmjohnnie sent me a link to the auction via email. Two DJ's are included with the book.

You can't zoom into the DJ's as much as I would like, but notice that at the very bottom of the inner front flap "Salem's Lot" is in italics. on a true 1st printing of the dustjacket "Salem's Lot" is not in italics.

Now, check out this eBay listing. for a printing from 1979 with a $9.95 price on the DJ - see how Salem's Lot is italicized? I THINK all later printings of the DJ that I've seen have Salem's Lot italicized.

That's 4 years later and the price has gone up by $2.....I would think somewhere in between there a printing from 1976/77/78....it would make sense that they would have gone up by $1 at some point, before jumpint over 20% to get $2 more. Thus putting that $8.95 price back on the DJ, and that this is really a DJ from 1976-78

What about the book block that has a Q37 code indicating it's a 1st printing? Well, I think that bottom DJ is what originally came with the book and the top DJ is one that was acquired later on......that's much more likely than having one of the super rare handful of 1st/1st DJ's that should have never left the publisher in the first place. If it were a 1st/1st DJ their pricing estimate is off by more than 10x lol.
