STEPHEN KING'S CARRIE WITH A $7.95 DJ PRICE

Post by eccentr1c1 »

I have a very strange copy of King's "CARRIE"...It is a cloth...Yellow.. mustard colored...Black Lettering on spine..V10 Guttercode...Unclipped $7.95 Dust Jacket..I collect First TRADE Editions of Carrie and they are only bound in BURGUNDY RED CLOTH.. The experts I contacted have never seen this edition ? Is this the true second edition or a major mistake in printing??

The V10 sounds like a later Doubleday, possibly 1980.

As for the yellow binding, possibly a library rebound?

Well let's remember that a 1st/1st would have a $5.95 price on the DJ so with your copy showing $7.95 we do have a later DJ for sure. The gutter code lines up as being 1980 as Mulleins said - again pointing to a later printing.

It's certainly possible that for that print run they used different boards.
