Cujo 40th Anniversary PS Publishing

Post by Billybumbler »

Here's something I want to ask the forum. I recently received the Cujo 40th Anniversary edition I ordered from Dark Regions Press. This was one I bought to resell. Imagine my surprise when I see there is no number where it says "this is copy ____ out of 1000." What would people do regarding this? Should I contact PS Publishing? Should I sell it as is?

Hmm, yeah seems like they forgot to number it, or it was a PC copy (but then they usually write in PC or Publishers Copy on the line). Considering the high demand for SK books right now, and as it's essentially an artist edition I don't think it's going to have a meaningful hit to value right now. But, if you sell it it's something you'll need to disclose to the buyer.

Personally I'd at least email PS Publishing to let them know so you can check on the following:
1) Know if they just forgot to number your copy, or if they sent your a PC copy...personally I'd love to know how many PC copies their are, if any. But either way then you can be accurate in your sales description.
2) (Only if you want to) See if swapping is even possible or if they're completely sold out.

Considering they are UK based I think swapping is going to be more hassle then it's worth, even if it is possible, especially if you're looking to sell in the near term. But as I like to say "if you don't ask, you don't get" :)

I heard from PS publishing who redirected me to Dark Regions Press. Dark Regions responded saying they didn't realize until they had sent a few out that the books were not numbered. They gave me a number for the book. I think this is pretty neat to be able to number it lol. So unfortunately they didn't say anything about PC copies. 😕

Thanks for letting us know how it turned out. Very interesting to hear that PS Pub sent un-numbered copies out to other presses (I assume with some allocation of numbers) to have those presses do the numbering.

There seems to be 3 states to the numbered edition of this book #1. Numbered 1-1,000 # 2. PC editions (I believe the PC is written-in) & state #3 is a lettered edition with a white round sticker with black printed letter on it. I have letter G.

That's the same for every PS Artist signed edition. Incidentally I was asked for my address to ship Different Seasons yesterday. It should be shipping soon.
