Confused about my copy of The Stand

Post by creightonsmith819 »

I'm confused, I have an edition of The Stand, Published in 1978 by Doubleday, it looks like the First editions but it has a price of $19.95 on the inside DJ flap instead of $12.95. On page 823 the code is CC32, not T39. It measures 8.5" x 6" x 2.5". What is it? What is it worth? I can't find it anywhere.

It's probably a much later printing of the first edition.

That's exactly what it is. Hard to say what year for sure but with inflation going like crazy book prices went up pretty much every year in the 70's and 80's...Skeleton Crew was published in 1985 at an issue price of $18.95 so my guess is your copy is from 1986.

Doesn't really matter all later printings are valued the same but I like to try to figure these things out as best I can... but it's an art, not a science folks :)
