Well that's what I'm getting at.
If someone has a BCE, and all the markers are there....everything, can they throw an original jacket on it, and it be a first edition book? Is there no way to tell?

A book club edition often has different color boards and/or paste downs. Sometimes they also use a lighter weight paper.
