If you had a signed first edition, but the DJ was trashed. Would you buy another 1st edition and switch the DJs. Have the opportunity to do just that. Don't know how that goes over in the collector world. Please help.

Re: Ethical question
I wouldn't hesitate to change the dust jacket for a better one.

Re: Ethical question
Nothing wrong with that at all. First edition jacket on first edition book = win/win.

Re: Ethical question
Oh yeah, no problem at all. I'd encourage it even. Just don't go grabbing a BC edition DJ and price clip it to pass it off as a 1st edition. We burn those kinds of folks at the stake, and use their forged DJ as fueljimimck wrote:Nothing wrong with that at all. First edition jacket on first edition book = win/win.

Tomas
Definitely will not do that. Thank you all for the input. Now have a 1st/1st signed Firestarter for $150.00.
