Christine S/L Tray Case

Post by crimsonking »

I recently purchased a copy of Christine S/L 1 of 1000. It came in a tray case that snaps shut. It also has a plate on the case that states that it is a S/L and which number out of 1000 the book is. I have seen a few other copies of this book for sale and they are not in the same type of case. Is this the original case or did someone have it special ordered? Thanks

I'd say it was specially made for your copy. The original came in a slipcase.

That being said, did you get the origional slip case as well? If not I would think that actually detracts from the value as it is not in it's origional form.

I emailed that seller while the auction was going on and asked him if he was the original owner, if he still had the original slipcase, or if he purchased the book with the custom case.

His response was "yes this book is one of 1000 that originally came with a slipcase." To which I responded "Ok, thanks for not answering my question." I didn't hear from him again.

Is it possible that Grant still has slipcases? I know they still have Dust Jackets?

Thanks for the replies. Grant does still have the dust jacket's, I don't know about the slip cases. I will call them Monday to see if they do and to see if they know anything about the snap tray case. I sent the seller of the book an email to see if he still has the original case, but I have not gotten a response yet. The case that the book is in now does look nice and it appears to be professionaly made. The only problem with it is that the case is too large and the book slides around inside of it. I have put a mylar cover on the jacket to help keep it from getting damaged. I will let you guys know how things turn out... Thanks again.

Just a reminder that the people at Grant are really busy now getting Little Sisters of Eluria ready to send out that you may not be able to get hold of them. Please be patient.

Grant never released anything for Christine besides the standard slipcase. This clearly sounds like an aftermarket traycase. (Post some pics, they'd be interesting to see)
