I personally think the books look to too nice (on the shelf and the covers by themselves) to keep in the wrap.

I think I'd have the set in shrink wrap, plus the books on their own to enjoy both options.

True but that would cost more money, although you can pronbably find the 2 books in stand-alone form for around $10 each

I opened my set, the light isn't branded but the books appear to be the regular editions.
