Amazon price sticker on IT slipcase

Post by deener555 » Sat Jan 14, 2012 6:48 am

I received my Gift Edition of IT from Amazon yesterday and some genius added a large price sticker on the back of the slipcase as shown in the attached photo. This sticker wont even begin to come off. Anyone have any suggestions for removing a very sticky sticker from a slipcase?

Thanks John,
As tempting as the gasoline and Drano suggestion was, I managed to solve my problem with a hair dryer, hot water, and a lot of patience. I’m still amazed that someone would put a very large, very sticky, price tag on the slipcase of a $125 book.

Glad you were able to get it off. Amazon is notorious for doing this.

Hey, just wondering did the book actually ship direct from Amazon or a 3rd party seller, as i honestly thought that CD don't fill any of Amazons pre orders as they require to much of a price cut.

I've had very good luck as well with a hairdryer and small knife. The hot air melts the glue enough to get a knife in there and peel the gunk away. If there's residual stuff on something that can take a little liquid (like a slipcase) then goo-gone or other cleaner can remove the rest.

Sorry I'm a little late in responding, but this book shipped directly from Amazon, not a 3rd party, and had an Amazon price sticker on it.

Thanks for the info, i honestly thought CD never filled any of Amazons pre orders for their limited slip case, with the exception of The dark man last year. i got a slipcased edition of Doctor sleep from CD themselves, but i also pre ordered a copy off of Amazon who were charging $50.00 (basically half price). But it got to long waiting and i emailed Amazon who were (honestly) useless, so emailed CD and got a reply back from Mindy who said that they do not fill any of Amazons pre orders as they require a huge cut in bulk discount (hence the half price sales price) and so i finally cancelled the pre order and got another copy off of Ebay.
