1st Edition Christine

Post by e_taylor »

Just wondering if Christine also needs the 625 Madison address on the copyright page for it to be a 1st printing....?

A good question (anytime you hear that it means someone dosen't know the answer lol )

I took my copy off the shelf, which I bought waaay back when I was a kid. Sold as a 1st edition and still has the $40 price I paid for it in pencil. Looking at the CP my address is 40 West 23rd St

SK's site, which has the "how to tell 1st edition's" PDF doesn't make a distinction
http://www.stephenking.com/other/identi ... itions.pdf

Of course that doesn't mean the PDF is without error or that the bookstore I bought it from was wrong, those early Vikings can be tricky. I'd love to have someone confirm this.

Hmmm, well I guess if we could figure out when Viking moved from 625 Madison... AND if that move was to 40 West 23rd..... hmmm.

According to Mansion House Books:
http://www.redeem.freeserve.co.uk/Kingb ... istine.htm

This is what he has listed for the US Christine:
CHRISTINE

FIRST TRADE HARDBACK EDITION (US)
PUBLISHER: VIKING 1983
DJ PRICE $16.95 ( states FPT >$16.95) code 04163083
ISBN 0-670-22026-4

Copyright Page

First published in 1983 by The Viking Press
40 West 23rd Street, New York, N.Y. 10010
Published simultaneously in Canada by
Penguin Books Canada Limited
A special limited first edition of 1000 numbered
and signed copies of this book has been published by
Donald M. Grant, Publisher, Rhode Island.

I've found his information to be very accurate. I haven't been able to check my copy right now, but I'm sure the above is correct.
