Hey folks,

Sub Press has annouced a new book called Fifty-to-One. It's basically a collection of Hard Case novels rolled into one. The regular edition is $45, and not signed by SK. The limited edition is $750 and will be signed by King, with half the profits going to the Haven Foundation.

From a collecting standpoint, if you are looking for a complete SK collection this will make is a nessiary purchase. For others, maybe not so much.

Value wise I do not see the price of this book going up much at all. Not only is there already a well done limited edition of The Colorado Kid out there, but with a full 50% of profits going to Charity (a great thing to do) it does "front load" the inital purchase price of the book; which will affect the secondary market value accordingly.

This book doesn't contain ANY of Kiing's work--all it has is a chapter (written by Charles Ardai) entitled The Colorado Kid. There are two editions, one for $45 and one for $750. The $750 one has, among others, King's signature. The $45 edition has the signature of Ardai. To me, $750 is a bit much just for a King autograph.

Here's the link:

Fifty-to-One

(I did order one of the $45 editions, just because it seems like an intriguing idea.)

I re-read the ordering page. Thanks for the clarification John.

I think I'm suffering from some sleep deprevation, I had to re-read it a few times to make sense. Each chapter bears the title of a previous hard case book, (and I'm guessing) that the chapters will in some way deal with the "facts" in the original story. So no new work, but SK's signature on the limited edition 50% profits to the Haven Foundation.

Even more after re-reading, I don't expect the price of this S/L to rise.
