Original Artwork available from Mark Edward Geyer

Post by TheCollector »

Longtime friend of the site, Mark is moving soon to take up a teaching position and he's selling some of his work during the process. None of it is King related unfortunately but if you're a fan of his style of work, originals are starting at just $75

==================================
With each purchase of my original art, I will be including complete provenance information. For purchases of full page illustrations, I will be including a hardback copy of the novel for which the illustration was done.

Two of the originals are for sale at Books of Wonder in NYC. Link: http://www.booksofwondershop.com/originalartwork.aspx These two drawings are matted in 8 play archival museum matting and framed in white wood and plexiglass.

Two of the originals are for sale in the museum shop of The National Museum of American Illustration, Newport, RI. The founder of the museum, Judy Cutler, recently acquired a third illustration of mine for the museum's permanent collection. The pieces for sale are my map of Manhattan from The Inquisitor's Apprentice and the newsboy at Washington Square Park from The Watcher in the Shadows, same series. Link to museum: http://www.americanillustration.org/ Call 401-851-8949 and ask for the museum shop or write to art@americanillustration.org re my work for sale. I don't know how much the pieces are because Judy has set their prices. The board of the museum includes Whoopi Goldberg, Matt Lauer, the granddaughter of Maxfield Parrish, a descendant of Paul Cezanne, author Tom Wolfe, Jamie Wyeth, and a bunch of other people and you can support the museum too, because half of the proceeds from sale of my pieces go to the museum. The two pieces are attached here for you to see. They are framed the same way as previously described above. (To give you an idea of how beautifully the three pieces were framed, the framing cost was $740.)

Within my own flat file I have many more (about 175) published book originals that I would like to sell:

14 full page illustrations from first two Inquisitor Apprentice novels, priced at about $700 each, matted. Seven front cover spot illustrations from that series, priced at $125 each. Kirkus Reviews voted The Inquisitor Apprentice one the Best Illustrated Chapter Books of 2011: https://www.kirkusreviews.com/best-of/2 ... llustrate/

72 chapter headers from first two novels of The Shakespeare Mysteries by Deron R. Hicks. I would accept $75 apiece for the chapter headers (these drawings are matted, not framed). Some of these chapter headers are on my website: http://www.markedwardgeyer.com/illustrations.html

81 originals from Who Was Ulysses S. Grant? a middle-grade biography (Grosset & Dunlap) which came out a month ago. Here is a link to this series: http://www.whowasbookseries.com/who-was/ This series will always be in print and it is in every bookstore. I am working now on Who Was Charles Dickens? I will sell the smallest Ulysses S. Grant spots for $75 apiece (matted, not framed) and the larger pieces would range up to $150. each. The best way to view the Ulysses S. Grant illustrations is to purchase the book at any bookstore for $4.99. For those of you who have children and grandchildren, you may already be familiar with the series and how the Who Was? books are used in schools and they are fun and educational.

Please let me know if you have any interest in any of the work described above.
