A few years ago $2000-$2500 was the going price....correct? This morning I see one on Ebay for $3500.

Is it me or are Bett's prices low? I was going to ask $2250 for mine, but maybe after this thread I should open with $2000. One of the few joys of a 90 cent Canadian dollar is selling....not buying.

There's a huge difference on "asking" prices and what is actually attained. Ebay has several books that are for sale at prices that will never sell in a million years. This goes for Abe Books as well.

To get the correct value, check out the "completed auctions", to see if they sell.

The prices at Betts are what the market decides. Some of the books at Betts have been on sale for over 10 years.

I have sold these books and watched them sell and own all, except the "Gunslinger" 1st/1st. What I just saw "Gunslinger" sell for with a nicer dust jacket was for 660.00. Being polite and saying this one is 650.00 could be very realistic. As for the others it goes as followed, for as new copies. Book 2-70.00, Book 3-80.00, Book 4-100.00 plus, Books 5, 6, 7- 15.00 each. That is what they go for.
I was watching a First Gunsligner on Ebay, it sold yesterday for $650. I would rate my book in the same condition...so there I have it. I see my $1750 is too high and my $2250 was just out to lunch.

But $1000 really, that's market value? Wow....and ouch.

Do you keep a list of completed pricing from Betts? I haven't seen a copy there for a couple months at least, there's nothing there now except for a lettered Stand that's sold.

Yes, since David took over 5 years ago.

I agree with the above pricing...although I would have gone lower on DT3 by about $20.

Foster...you are better off parting this out, as you will be hard pressed to find a King collector who is going to just buy a whole set (unless you are selling the set very cheap).

More likely, is that someone will buy one or two books.

My advice is to chop up the set (you could sell DT5-7 together since they aren't really worth much), and hope for the best.
