So I have a lead on a S/L copy of The Gunslinger. I haven't taken a look at the actual book itself yet, but I could be looking at paying $4K for it. Is that about right for the current market value? I was thinking it was worth upwards of $6,000-$8,000. What do y'all think?

I'm not an expert on gunslinger s/l values but $4k seems pretty good to me.

Do you know the number? Ie is an under 500 complete set a possibility? Not sure if that adds to value or not, just curious.

All I know is that it's #151 of 500. My collection is extremely small since I sell most of my Stephen King books, but I definitely want this one.

$4K has been the going rate at Betts Bookstore for a while now.

Of course I would say Betts prices things at the very low end of the market. Which is great for collectors so consider that 4k a minimum.

Betts sold one for $4,500 yesterday.
