Betts books just had a fine/near fine+, but price clipped, copy listed for $499. Currently on hold.

Maybe a good starting point, and you could consider how much an unclipped jacket is worth to you...

The price clipped DJ really takes away from the value. And of course condition is everything. ABE has VG+/VF condition around the $1,000 - $1,500 range, an ebay sale closed in April for $1,200...you can compare pics to your copy

Thanks for the replies; greatly appreciated.

I just received the copy I purchased (seller dropped it off to my home just a few minutes ago) and it's is better then described! Really a beautiful unread copy. The seller buys up estates and told me he just bought some lots with a small book collection from a South shore estate in Long Island NY. Needless to say I was really interested in seeing this book.

It's not price clipped and all edges and corners are sharp! This looks to be an unread copy! I feel bad having haggled with him and getting the price reduced. Not being a book dealer he seemed to just be happy to get the money really quickly so he can hit the estate auction circuit again. He was asking 1500.00 because he said he saw it posted for that price online. I picked up for 900.00 so I'm so totally stoked! The only imperfection is an ever so slight and infinitesimal crease on the head of the spine and when I see it in person and put a brodart on it looks extremely minimal. Hardly worth mentioning considering the condition as a whole. Someone may even call this a F/F I'm sure. I feel, being a conservative grader, this copy is a solid NF/NF or better. No chips, tears, or detraction... wow.

From the looks of the pictures and assuming there's nothing wrong with the book itself, I'd grade it NF.

Hi John. 900.00 is not bad for a copy in this condition I think. As for the book, it's stiff to open, as if it's never been opened all the way. It's remarkable really. Totally unexpected.

I also agree! Now get a broadart cover on that bad boy before you accidentally rip or bump $200 off the value :o
