issues with posting

Post by amd013 »

Hi,

If I try to add a file, I am sent back to the login page when I click on the "Add the file" button (meanwhile a window pops up saying the upload is currently in progress, but never finishes.) When I try to reply to a topic I created, I also am sent back to the login page. In both cases I am back to the forum home page, and the post is lost.

Hoping that I will get a different result when trying to create a new thread. If I don't repy back to this, you probably know why.

Thanks,
Mike

ok getting weird issues now, was able to upload 1 picture, but the same issue came back when I tried to add a second picture. I tried to post to this topic, then got an error that I didn't answer the question correctly (there was no question to answer). Looking down, it then had a box to enter the word seen in the picture below, but there was no picture.

In other forums, you have to have posted a certain amount of times before you can upload pictures. I'm not sure if that applies here.

Edit: Also, sometimes your picture is too big. Try reducing the size.

There's no limit on the number of posts you must have to post a picture. I'm sure the problems are caused by the size of the pics. As Mr. RT says, try shrinking your pictures. That should work.

Its not the size of the pics. The first time I tried, it gave an error regarding that before any window popped up saying it was uploading them. I spent some time shrinking them. They are only about 236K. The message said they needed to be under 256K (or was it 250K).

Like I said, I had one occasion where it accepted one picture, but when I tried the second the error occured again. Plus similar errors occurred with just normal posts that had no pictures.

Hi Mike,

I haven't seen any posting issues before, can you tell me what your operating system and browser (Firefox, chrome, etc) is? Also could you try an alternate browser?

I am using Firefox 33.1, and Windows 7 Enterprise. I was going to try from home computer last night (using work computer now). Will try again today to see if it was an intermittant issue, and try again with IE 10.

Thanks,
Mike

I'm also using win 7 enterprise, my firefox is version 34.0.5 - Posting a small pic here to verify that combo is OK. (There is a small pop-up window that comes up as the upload is happening, don't know if a pop-up blocker would stop the upload from actually happening or just hide the progress window)

Ok, have intermittent success. First I tried to upload 4 pictures in one post. On the 4th upload it failed. I then tried again and it failed on the 2nd picture. I then tried 1 at a time. This failed twice in a row, then worked twice in a row, then failed on the fifth. So with 11 attempts it worked 6 times and failed 5. This was still with Firefox.

Thanks,
Mike

PS: when trying to submit this post I get the error: "You have provided an invalid answer to the question" Below there is a question. Looks like some form of captcha, but don't know what to type. Screen capture attached (if I'm lucky). This post with IE (first attempt was firefox). In retrospect, think I may have been logged out between the start and finish of the post.
