I collect all types of books, here's just one bookcase.

I've tried other authors, like Rice or Brite, but have settled on a fairly new guy - Jasper Fforde.

And after reading here and the darktower.com, I got my first advanced book.

I have to admit tho, I'm not sure how many of these advanced types there are.
This was advertised as Advanced Reading Copy, but says Advanced Uncorrected Proofs. Is that the same?

And finally, he's coming out with his first S/L and guess who's carrying it? Yes! Everyone's favorite bookstore Waterstone's. I also ordered the UK trade so maybe they will come in a box, not a wrapper.

I like your bookshelves. Very neat and orderly. I have so many items in front of my books it takes a couple hours to dust them all.
Never heard of Jasper Fforde. What type of books does he write?

It's almost impossible to determine how many advance copies are distributed unless the publisher makes it known. You can sometimes tell by how many show up in the aftermarket (such as eBay, ABE, etc.)

Most people use the terms interchangeably. Formally, and Advance Reading Copy (ARC) is used to denote an advanced edition that has a similar cover as the trade edition, while the proof is not nearly as fancy. I use both with little distinguishment between them.
