I've heard the name but have not read anything by him.

I've read some of his stuff, but it doesn't really appeal to me that much. That's just me, though.

I've serendipitously stumbled upon, what may end up being, a new author for me. I'm reading 'The Magic Wagon', one of these L/S editions by him that I've found; so far so good. It's a horror/fantasy/western that takes place in 1909. If you like westerns and horror, this may be just what the doctor ordered.

This is his bio:

This is a blurb off amazon for another book. I love the 'Hillbilly Noir' reference.

Edge of Dark Water describes a trip downriver that is one-half Huck Finn, one-half Deliverance, and entirely Joe Lansdale. If you aren't familiar with the work of this true American original, and master of hillbilly noir, climb in the boat and hang on for dear life: the water is rough.
