Firestarter DJ Variant Or...?

Im a new collector and am getting my feet wet. I currently have 3 1st trade editions of firestarter but the last one I purchased has lettering on the spine a green color instead of bright orange. The graphic on the spine is also that same green color. See pic. When you compare the orange to the green side by side it really is a different color- doesnt seem just faded orange. All other points of 1st ed are there (dj price and dj print code 0980). Does anyone know if this is a variant DJ for Firestarter? Later print run maybe? Or can this just be the way bright orange looks if sun bleached?? The front of the DJ is the normal orange... Any info would be appreciated.

I'd say the spine printing is faded due to exposure to sunlight. Such fading does weird things. I've never seen any mention of any dust jacket variations of Firestarter.

You really think the sun can do that to the orange but have no effect on the black print?

Oh, yeah. Different inks react differently to sunlight.

Yes. This is common. Reds fade first with UV light.
