Hello:
Does anyone know if Hodder and Stoughton, the UK publisher of Stephen King, has done or plans to do hardcover versions of the first 3 Dark Tower books? They did the last four, which I have and did very nice job. It would be nice to have a matching set.
thanks,

Hi Steve,

I havn't heard of anything personally, but I feel like I'm not quite as "plugged in" to the UK publishing scene as the US.

Still after all this time and in this economy I'd be surprised of a S/L UK edition of DT 1-3... The time to do it would have been right after the last book was released.

You would think that Hodder and Stoughton would at least consider the revised version of the Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger.

The short answer is no.

H&S do not own the UK rights to the first 3 books. That belongs to New English Library.

(NEL have allowed H&S to print all 7 in a paperback set).

NEL published a boxed set of the first four books (trade paperbacks) with covers consistent with those of the last three books. It's kind of neat, in that as the cover of DTI shows the Dark Tower in the distance, and each consecutive book shows it getting larger and larger.

Good to know about the trade paperback editions. Unfortunately I am more partial to hardcovers.

The HB UK versions of the DT books really look good. Where would be a good place to pick up a set, and what would be a reasonable price?

Thanks

Don't you have to pay around $25 a book to ship it to the US from the UK?
