Slipcased, One For the Road by Stephen King

Post by needful_things4me »

Dear Fellow Collectors:

I received this offer by PS Publishing this morning and thought I'd pass the opportunity along. For new Five-Year subscribers to Postscripts, you will receive a slipcased limited edition copy of Stephen King's One For The Road. PS Publishing has posted on their website a limitation of 100 slipcased copies (available only to 5-yr limited edition subscribers) and 200 regular hardcover copies (available only to 5-yr regular hardcover edition subscribers).

If you are interested, here are the links.

Hardcover Edition Subscribers £200.00 [$300.00] :

Limited Edition Subscribers £450.00 [$675.00] :

John,

When you break it down, its about $34 for each of the Limited Hardcover Editions (4 editions per year, for five years). I have no idea if this includes shipping to the US, I'll have to check into that for myself. I know #10, which was signed by Stephen King and Joe Hill resells for around $200 and Joe Hill is often a contributor. It's also possible over the next five years Stephen King might be again as well.

I'm between contracts at the moment, hoping to get a new one before this offer runs out.

Andrea, you're right, but that's a lot of money for me to invest just (mainly, I admit) to get a King item. If it were a new story, that'd be different, but...

They are selling the unsigned for $120.00. http://store.pspublishing.co.uk/acatalo ... _road.html

A bit steep for me. Did anyone order one - is it possibly worth that price?

Being the obsessive completist that I am, I'll probably get a copy, but I think it's WAY overpriced by about $100. If it had a signature...

I originally signed up for the five year deluxe subscription from PS so that I could get a artist signed/slipcased copy of One for the Road.

But after a year they announced that it could be purchased without subscription, so I contacted Peter and he allowed me to put the money that I had already paid towards the five year subscription towards the signed deluxe. He also allowed me to keep the signed copies of Postscripts that I had already received while subscribed.

In the end, I ended up paying around $280.00. Not what I would normally spend on a book not signed by SK but since the money was already invested I figured I can live with it.
