Older VS Newer Signatures

What are your thoughts on how having an older book (say Firestarter or Misery) with a newer signature?

If you saw two books for sale in the same condition one with an older signature and one new.... would you value them the same? What one would you prefer?

My feelings are: Value the same, but I would prefer the older signature.

Always the older signature. The nearer the release date the better.

I would not buy a book with a new signature, S/L excepted. I have several new signatures that King signed for me personally, but that's diferent.

I agree with RT. I think it's cooler having one closer to issue date of the book, but even that aside, his newer signatures look very scrappy compared to earlier versions.

I'd also agree. Not that I wouldn't take a newer signature, but I'd want some proof regarding the event that it was signed, if it were 30 years after publication.
