Salem's Lot 1st ed.

Post by blg »

I've seen prices all over the place for a Salem's Lot Doubleday 1st edition, 2nd state DJ. Could one you who knows give me a rough price range, assuming good condition book and DJ?

thanks.

For good condition book and dj, I'd say in the $200-250 range. For fine condition, at least $700.

Quick research on several sites , reveals : prices start at $750

You may be able to get a British first edition for less than $500

I think for a very fine copy with VF dust jacket, about $1500. If it is signed by King it can go up to $5000.
For a first edition in the ORIGINAL unclipped dust jacket, of which maybe only 4 or 5 exist, there is one for sale at Abe Books for a mere $90,000.
Good luck!

What does the copyright page say, and what is the gutter code on page 439?

Does that mean you have one of the (gasp!) first state first editions?
