Are these terms used interchangeably or does one precede the other?

Officially, and ARC (Advance Reading Copy) has the cover art of the edition. The proof has little or no cover art. Actually, the terms are used interchangeably by just about everyone. If a book has a proof, it seldom has an ARC, and vice-versa.

A few. I'm now at 105 US proofs, 43 UK, 68 anthologies with King items in them, 21 of books about King, and numerous F&Gs, manuscripts, etc.

John:

Thanks for dropping that knowledge. I've recently become very interested in Dark Tower ARCs (Grant Editions) but I wanted to make sure I knew more about them before I crack the wallet open. Much obliged, once again, John.

Hi Colin,

If you want to see my collection of proofs, check out:

http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/sho ... nic-proofs

I still haven't been able to get the US and UK trade proofs for Doctor Sleep, but I'm still looking.

You said that you're interested in getting the Grant proofs of the Dark Tower books--be aware that there are NO known proofs of The Gunslinger or book 2, The Drawing of the Three. I do have F&Gs (folded and gathered) of both. They're the only ones I know of in a collector's hands. These are not shown in my collections thread.

Wow! That was awesome to scroll through. Really a one-of-a-kind collection you have, John. Very cool to actually see all the DT proofs. Fascinating stuff, really.
