I ordered on Thursday and I just got my conformation. I hope that others who have above 1250 are lucky enough to pick one up.

I also got my confirmation today. I actually have two s/l DT VII, #866 and #1273. I do not plan on entering the lottery for the remaining books (because of #1273), thus increasing (although only by one) the chances of someone else getting a s/l.

Did you take a picture of it...or just provide the number

I have a scanner, so I scanned the sticker on the shrinkwrap and attached that to an email.

How will this book relate to the set of seven? Will a complete set require eight books now, or will Little Sisters be considered an extra? Just wondering the overall importance and value increase to the compete set of seven? Thoughts anyone?

That's a good question.

Speaking just for myself, I'd consider this as part eight of the set, mainly because it contains the Revised Gunslinger, in addition to Little Sisters. Other collectors may feel otherwise.

I think it will really depend on the person. As we all know, technically, this is just a reprint.

Does every matched set also need a matching "Legends"?

Again, depends on the person. I think this one, being that its published by Grant, trumps Legends. However, its a bigger size than the other books, and it seems that its almost an add on the series.

I think its one of those things that although technically not needed for a "matched set", collector's (myself included) will try to match it up anyways.

For people like me, who have higher numbers of the later books, this at least allows some sort of matching. My number is above 850 for III-VII. So I can't get a matching II because it does not exist. But I have kings copy of II. So I look at that one as a joker in the deck that can be any number since it is signed twice. I am happy with the set I have been able to put together. Even if I got my hands on a S\L first ed GunSlinger, I could not match it up with the numbers I have. For now, this will do
EDIT:My Gun Slinger that I have now is a first ed.

In essence I think this will create two "sets"... An original set with DT-1 being the original 1st edition and a revised set with DT-1 being the revised edition.

The key piece in a complete DT set was always The Gunslinger, for numbers 1-500 this will always mean the original S/L edition. For numbers 501 - 1250 this will become the revised edition (thus I call it the revised DT set)

Although many of you think I shouldn't have to say this.. you'd be surprised.
A COMPLETE REVISED SET WILL IN NO WAY BE WORTH AS MUCH AS AN ORIGINAL SET

At this point, I'd value an original set + a matching revised Gunslinger at plus $500-$600 compared to a set of just DT 1- 7

I am weak . I broke down and order an artist ed. I got the same matching number as my other limiteds, 957. I am pretty sure my chances of getting one of the "special" ones with the drawing is pretty slim by getting one of the ones between 1-1500. I am going to guess that they will end up in the higher numbers so other people can have a chance at getting a real limited one since they can't get a S\L. Just my gut feeling but I don't mind. Havin a matched one is still cool.
